TCL Unveils Pricing and Details for New 50 Series Phones at Mobile World Congress

TCL made a splash at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona by revealing pricing details for their upcoming 50 series of phones. Among the highlights were the affordable Nxtpaper phones set to hit the US market later this year, with the 50 XL Nxtpaper 5G priced under $229 and the 50 XE Nxtpaper 5G costing under $199. The company also showcased traditional display models, including the $169 TCL 50 XL 5G and the $149 50 XE 5G.

The phones in the 50 series offer various features like high refresh rate displays, large batteries, and ample storage and memory options. The XL model boasts a super-smooth 120Hz refresh rate display and will be available at Metro by T-Mobile in the second quarter, while the XE model will arrive in the third quarter with a 90Hz display. Additionally, TCL introduced the budget-friendly $99 TCL 50 LE phone, featuring a 6.6-inch HD Plus display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 4,000-mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.

Notably, the company also announced the European release of the TCL 50 SE phone priced at 150 euros (approximately $160). This model comes with a 6.8-inch FHD Plus display, 12GB of memory, and 256GB of storage.

The TCL announcements come amidst a flurry of activity at Mobile World Congress, which includes Microsoft's plans to combat phone scammers using artificial intelligence and Motorola showcasing a rollable phone concept.
