In a series of targeted shootings in a Philadelphia suburb, a suspect considered "extremely dangerous" is reportedly barricaded with hostages at a residence in Trenton, New Jersey, according to police. The suspect has been identified as Andre Gordon, a 26-year-old individual.
The shootings occurred at two separate locations in Falls Township, Pennsylvania, leaving three people dead. Falls Township police received a call at approximately 8:52 a.m., regarding a residence on Viewpoint Lane, where two individuals had been fatally shot. Shortly after, at around 9:01 a.m., a third person was shot and killed at a location on Edgewood Lane.
Following the shootings, authorities have determined that Gordon knew all three victims, suggesting a targeted attack. Gordon allegedly stole a dark gray Honda CRV, manufactured in 2016, at gunpoint, soon after the shootings took place. The stolen vehicle was later found unoccupied in Trenton at around 11:38 a.m., as confirmed by Falls Township police.
Police have reason to believe that Gordon is armed with an assault rifle, which was used in the shootings, as well as other weapons. Additionally, investigators have discovered that the suspect is unhoused and has connections to the Trenton area.
The carjacking incident occurred at approximately 9:13 a.m. in the parking lot of a Dollar General store in Morrisville. Fortunately, the operator of the vehicle was unharmed.
In response to the ongoing search for the suspect, Falls Township police issued a shelter-in-place warning, urging residents to stay indoors. However, this advisory has since been lifted. Similarly, a shelter-in-place recommendation issued in Middletown Township, located about 8 miles west of Falls Township, has also been rescinded.
Law enforcement agencies in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey are collaborating in efforts to secure the area and bring the situation to a safe resolution. Updates regarding the ongoing standoff are expected as authorities work toward a peaceful conclusion.
This incident serves as a tragic reminder of the dangers posed by targeted violence and the importance of swift and coordinated responses by law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety.
