Reality TV star Kim Johnson, known for her appearance on "Survivor: Africa," has tragically passed away at the age of 79. The news was confirmed by Kim's daughter, Kerry Johnson Tichi, who shared the heartbreaking announcement on Monday. Kerry described her mother as "the coolest mom and grandmother in the world" and highlighted Kim's legacy of strength, resilience, kindness, and generosity.

Kim's 'Survivor' co-star Ethan Zohn also paid tribute to the late contestant, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to compete alongside her. Remembering Kim for her remarkable spirit, Zohn penned a poignant tribute on Instagram and promised to honor her memory with a toast.

Kim Johnson rose to fame in 2001 when she finished as the runner-up on 'Survivor: Africa', a season where Ethan Zohn emerged as the Sole Survivor. At 56 years old during filming, Kim notably became the oldest person to win the Final Immunity Challenge on the show.

Kim Johnson's passing marks another loss for the 'Survivor' community in 2024, following the death of Season 1 contestant Sonja Christopher in April at the age of 87. Kim was 8 years younger than Sonja at the time of her passing, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the reality television world. Fans and fellow contestants alike are mourning the loss of a beloved 'Survivor' alum.
