### Patriots Struggle as Texans Dominate in 41-21 Blowout

In a one-sided affair at Gillette Stadium, the New England Patriots were overwhelmed by the Houston Texans, falling 41-21. This defeat marks the fifth consecutive loss for New England, despite a debut start from rookie quarterback Drake Maye.

Wide receiver Douglas emerged as a bright spot for the Patriots' offense. The demands for his increased involvement seem to be paying off, as he became Maye’s top target. Douglas recorded six receptions for 92 yards and scored his first career touchdown. His 23-yard touchdown catch on a slant route, where he outran Texans safety Eric Murray, showcased his potential as New England's premier offensive playmaker.

Defensively, Mapu continues to make strides, featuring prominently in various facets of the game. Despite an early pass interference penalty that contributed to Houston's first touchdown, Mapu rebounded strongly, amassing five tackles and half a sack on Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud. Additionally, Mapu played a crucial role in an interception during the second quarter, deflecting a pass meant for tight end Dalton Schultz that was ultimately picked off by Marcus Jones.

The Patriots’ offensive line once again showed vulnerabilities, highlighted by Jacobs' struggles at right tackle. His difficulties began with a false start and continued as he was overwhelmed by Houston's edge rushers. Jacobs' errors culminated in a strip sack by Danielle Hunter that not only resulted in a lost fumble but also left Maye shaken.

On the offensive side, tight end Henry was another key contributor, showing that positive outcomes often follow when he is involved. During New England's second scoring drive, Henry was vital, recording 41 yards on three catches, including a 6-yard touchdown reception. His contributions accounted for half the yardage in that drive alone.

However, some players underperformed, notably wide receiver Polk. Drafted in the second round, Polk was expected to make an immediate impact but has struggled to get open against defenders, catching only one pass for four yards and dropping two others.

The Patriots' defense was gashed on the ground yet again, allowing the Texans to rush for 192 yards. This troubling trend follows after surrendering 193 rushing yards to the Dolphins just a week earlier. Despite a solid start to the season, the Patriots have now allowed at least 130 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Overall, the game underscored the Patriots’ ongoing deficiencies and highlighted the areas in need of major improvements as the season progresses.
