In an exciting announcement made during Summer Games Fest 2024, Capcom has unveiled the Season 2 DLC lineup for Street Fighter 6. Fans can expect the addition of Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, Elena, and M. Bison to the roster of playable characters.

The order of release for these new DLC fighters has also been revealed. M. Bison is set to make his comeback in Summer 2024, followed by Terry Bogard in Fall 2024, Mai Shiranui in Winter 2025, and Elena in Spring 2025.

M. Bison's appearance in Street Fighter 6 Season 2 DLC has piqued fans' curiosity. His body is partially covered by a cloth, and it appears that he is emanating some Psycho Power from his face. As Bison had met his demise in the previous game, it is speculated that his new look is a result of his revival in a new body, a characteristic he is well-known for. The iconic villain first appeared in Street Fighter 2 back in 1991 and has remained a mainstay in the franchise ever since.

The return of M. Bison also hints at an update on the state of Shadaloo, the nefarious organization he leads. Set approximately 10 years after the events of Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, the timeline of Street Fighter 6 will shed light on how Shadaloo has fared since Bison's defeat in the previous game. Interestingly, Bison's hat had previously been featured on Ed's new stage, Ruined Lab, which now serves as a foreshadowing of his revival.

Elena, a character that debuted in 1997's Street Fighter 3: New Generation, will also be joining the playable roster of Street Fighter 6. She sports a brand new design, and her inclusion has stirred some controversy in the community. As a playable character, Elena possesses a Healing move that allows her to restore her health. This ability had made her a highly disliked character in Ultra Street Fighter 4, where she arguably became the game's most hated character due to her strong self-sustain. It remains to be seen how this move will be balanced in Street Fighter 6.

Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, hailing from SNK's Fatal Fury franchise, will mark the first time guest characters from another fighting game franchise are featured in a mainline Street Fighter game. Terry Bogard, one of the three playable characters in the original Fatal Fury released in 1991, has a special significance as he was directed by Takashi Nishiyama, the creator of the very first Street Fighter game. Capcom and SNK have shared a long history of collaboration in their fighting games, but this crossover brings a unique dynamic to the mainline Street Fighter series. Mai Shiranui, who made her first appearance in Fatal Fury 2 in 1992, has also garnered a strong following in the fighting game community.

The addition of these four characters in Street Fighter 6 Season 2 DLC will bring the total number of playable characters to 26 by Spring 2025. With new fighters from multiple franchises joining the fray, fans are eagerly awaiting to see how these beloved characters will be incorporated into the gameplay mechanics of Street Fighter 6.

As the release dates draw nearer, anticipation continues to rise amongst Street Fighter enthusiasts who are excited to delve into the next chapter of the iconic fighting game series.
