### Steelers Prepare for Divisional Showdown Amid Injury Concerns

The Pittsburgh Steelers have concluded their preparations for Sunday’s crucial matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, holding their practice sessions indoors at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex due to unfavorable weather conditions. The team faces several injury challenges as they gear up for the pivotal AFC North clash.

Linebacker Alex Highsmith remains doubtful for the game, still nursing the ankle injury that has kept him off the field for the past two weeks. Additionally, cornerback Cory Trice Jr. and defensive tackle Montravius Adams Sr. have both been ruled out as they continue to recover on the Reserve/Injured (Designated for Return) List. All three players participated in a limited capacity during Friday's practice.

Besides these key injuries, the Steelers are relatively healthy—a vital factor as the season progresses into December, a period notorious for physical tolls on players. "December football hits different," said nose tackle Keeanu Benton, who is himself dealing with a hip injury. He emphasized the importance of staying healthy and maintaining clear communication among teammates as the physical demands increase.

The Steelers are currently navigating a crucial four-game stretch against AFC North teams, with Sunday's game being the third consecutive divisional contest. The significance of these matchups is not lost on Coach Mike Tomlin, who highlighted the escalating competition and the need for all available expertise during this narrow road to the playoffs.

For the younger players, especially those fresh out of college, adapting to the longer NFL season is challenging. Veteran linebacker Tyler Matakevich mentioned sharing advice with rookie Payton Wilson to underscore the importance of taking care of their bodies and staying prepared for each game, noting that December matches carry added weight as teams push for playoff berths.

Defensive tackle Montravius Adams Sr., limited in practice, is included in a comprehensive injury report, which also lists cornerback Cory Trice Jr., nursing a hamstring issue, and linebacker Alex Highsmith, sidelined by his persistent ankle trouble. Fortunately, several key veterans such as linebacker Keeanu Benton and safety Damontae Kazee are expected to play, having been able to participate fully in recent practices.

The upcoming game against the Bengals could have significant implications for the Steelers as they continue their quest for a postseason berth. With a strong emphasis on maintaining health and leveraging veteran experience, the Steelers are poised to confront their division rivals head-on.
