### Star Receiver Stefon Diggs Out for the Season with Torn ACL
Houston Texans fans received devastating news as coach Demeco Ryans confirmed on Tuesday that star wide receiver Stefon Diggs will miss the remainder of the season. The 30-year-old suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s 23-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
"Unfortunately, he tore his ACL so he'll be out for the year," said Ryans. "It's really hurtful news for our team. Diggs has been an indispensable part of our squad, not just for his performance on the field but also for his leadership and work ethic. His absence will be a significant challenge for us."
Diggs, who joined the Texans this offseason after a trade with the Buffalo Bills, sustained the injury in a non-contact play. Following a route against the Colts, he grabbed his knee and crumpled to the ground in evident pain. Despite the injury, he managed to walk off the field.
In his eight games with the Texans, Diggs accumulated 47 receptions totaling 496 yards and three touchdowns, adding another score on the ground. His impressive performance this season had made him a critical offensive weapon for Houston's squad. The Texans had reworked his contract, making him a free agent in 2025.
Previously, Diggs secured a four-year, $96 million extension with the Bills in April 2022. He joined the Buffalo team in 2020 after a well-publicized exit from the Minnesota Vikings, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. The Texans, who currently hold a 6-2 record, are scheduled to face the Jets, who have a 2-6 record, on Thursday night.
Compounding their challenges, the Texans are also missing another key receiver, Nico Collins, due to a hamstring injury that has sidelined him since Week 5. With these setbacks, Houston's offense will need to adjust as they continue their season without two of their top receivers.
