In a move to bolster their roster, the St. Louis Blues have made two significant acquisitions in forward Radek Faksa and forward Mathieu Joseph. The deals were announced by Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong.

Faksa, a 30-year-old forward from the Czech Republic, joins the Blues from the Dallas Stars. Last season, he played in 74 regular-season games, scoring seven goals and contributing 12 assists for a total of 19 points. Faksa also made an impact in the playoffs, tallying a goal in eight appearances. He was originally drafted by the Stars in the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft and has spent his entire nine-year career in Dallas. Throughout his career, Faksa has amassed 200 points, including 89 goals and 111 assists, in 638 regular-season games. In the postseason, he has scored nine goals and provided 11 assists in 79 games.

Alongside Faksa, the Blues also acquired forward Mathieu Joseph from the Ottawa Senators. Joseph, a 27-year-old native of Laval, Quebec, played in 72 regular-season games last season, recording 11 goals and 24 assists for a total of 35 points. He also accumulated 51 penalty minutes. Joseph was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Draft. In his career, he has accumulated 135 points, including 55 goals and 80 assists, in 360 regular-season games. Joseph also played a vital role in the Lightning's 2021 Stanley Cup Championship, making six postseason appearances.

In addition to the player acquisitions, the Blues received a 2025 third-round pick from the Ottawa Senators in the trade with the inclusion of future considerations. This adds further depth and potential for the Blues in the upcoming seasons.

The St. Louis Blues have made significant moves to strengthen their roster by adding the experienced Radek Faksa and the promising Mathieu Joseph. These acquisitions, along with the addition of the 2025 third-round pick, demonstrate the team's commitment to building a competitive lineup for the future.
