In a surprising turn of events, the sister of Ruby Garcia, the young Michigan resident allegedly murdered by her illegal immigrant lover, has come forward to dispute former President Donald Trump's claim of speaking with the bereaved family. Mavi Garcia, in an interview with local news outlet WOOD-TV, expressed shock and disbelief at Trump's statement during a campaign event in Grand Rapids.

According to Mavi Garcia, neither she nor any of her relatives had spoken with Trump regarding Ruby's tragic death. She described the moment of hearing Trump's claim as "kind of shocking" and mentioned that it had resulted in her discontinuing the viewing of the event. The Trump campaign has chosen not to offer an official comment in response to this matter.

The body of Ruby Garcia was discovered on March 22 on the side of US-131, riddled with multiple bullet wounds. Her alleged partner, Brandon Ortiz-Vite, confessed to shooting her following an argument, disposing of her remains, and fleeing the scene in her car. Ortiz-Vite had been previously deported under the Trump administration in 2020 but managed to reenter the United States before being arrested for Ruby Garcia's murder.

During his Michigan speech, Trump elevated Garcia's tragic death, claiming to have spoken with "some" of her family. He highlighted her vibrant personality and contagious laughter, describing her as someone who lit up every room she entered. However, Mavi Garcia asserts that no such conversation took place between Trump and their family members.

In a separate interview with a Detroit radio host, Trump expressed his desire for Ruby's family to attend his rally, but they ultimately did not make an appearance. Mavi Garcia expressed her disappointment with Ortiz-Vite's presence in the United States, emphasizing her wish for him to have stayed in Mexico. However, she also criticized Trump for making the case solely about migration, arguing that he failed to address the issue of American citizens committing heinous crimes.

Recently, the former president has focused on high-profile killings committed by illegal migrants, referring to it as "Biden's border bloodbath." Trump highlighted Ortiz-Vite's deportation under his administration, emphasizing the challenge of reentry. He accused President Joe Biden of allowing the perpetrator to return to the United States.

As the controversy unfolds, the public awaits further developments and potential clarifications regarding the alleged conversation between Donald Trump and Ruby Garcia's family. It remains to be seen how this dispute will impact the ongoing dialogue surrounding immigration and criminal justice in the country.
