In the ongoing search for missing college student Riley Strain, authorities have concluded their efforts at the Cheatham Dam in Ashland City without finding any evidence connected to the 22-year-old. Strain, a University of Missouri student who went missing on March 8 during a fraternity trip, was last seen getting kicked out of a bar in Nashville.

The search operation, which had previously focused on the banks of the Cumberland River in Nashville, shifted to the Cheatham Dam after the Cheatham County Sheriff's Office received a request from the Metro Nashville Police Department. Located approximately 42 miles downstream from Nashville, the dam is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and spans the Cumberland River.

Search crews utilized a technique known as "burping" the dam, involving the temporary closure and subsequent reopening of the structure during the search efforts. However, as of Wednesday afternoon, no significant findings related to Strain's disappearance were reported by the sheriff's office.

While no additional search efforts are currently planned in the area, authorities remain focused on investigating the dam as part of their ongoing search for Strain. Concurrently, search teams continue their efforts in the Cumberland River in Nashville in hopes of finding any trace of the missing student.

Strain's disappearance has sparked concern and garnered attention from both local and national communities. Authorities are urging anyone with information about Riley Strain's whereabouts to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

As the search presses on, friends, family, and the community continue to hold onto hope for a breakthrough that will lead to Strain's safe return.
