In a recent statement, Sean "Diddy" Combs, through his attorney Aaron Dyer, vehemently denied the "meritless accusations" made against him. This came shortly after Homeland Security raids were conducted at his residences in Los Angeles and Miami on Monday.
Dyer criticized the use of excessive force during the search warrants execution, describing it as a "gross overuse of military-level force." He expressed concern over the treatment of Combs' children and employees during the raids. However, Dyer clarified that Combs was not detained and willingly cooperated with the authorities.
Contrary to media speculation, neither Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested in connection to the raids, and their ability to travel has not been restricted. Dyer emphasized that there have been no findings of criminal or civil liability against Combs related to the allegations.
The raids on Combs' homes were reportedly connected to an ongoing federal human trafficking investigation, according to a U.S. official who spoke to Fox News. At this time, it remains unclear if the rapper is a direct target of the investigation.
Meanwhile, a music producer named Rodney Jones, also known as Lil Rod, filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Combs in February. In an updated version of the lawsuit, Jones included actor Cuba Gooding Jr., accusing him of "sexually harassing and assaulting" him during a party on a yacht rented by Combs in January 2023.
Jones had previously accused Combs of sexually assaulting him and coercing him into engaging in sexual acts with prostitutes, in the original lawsuit filed earlier this year. The producer claimed to have lived with Combs for extended periods of time.
Combs' legal team dismissed Jones' claims as "complete lies" and accused him of seeking an undeserved payday through the $30 million lawsuit. They labeled his allegations regarding events that supposedly took place on the yacht as "pure fiction."
The investigation into the allegations against Combs and the involvement of actor Cuba Gooding Jr. is ongoing. Combs maintains his innocence and vows to fight to clear his name.
The investigation and legal battle continue, as Combs awaits further developments in his case.
