At least six new lawsuits were lodged against well-known musician and producer Sean Combs on Monday, accusing him of sexual assault. These allegations include incidents involving men, women, and a 16-year-old boy. All suits were filed by anonymous plaintiffs under the names John Doe and Jane Doe in the federal court of the Southern District of New York.
The allegations span instances of rape, sexual assault, and drugging of drinks, with at least two reported assaults occurring at Combs' well-known White Parties between 1998 and 2006. The six plaintiffs involved are seeking both compensatory and punitive damages.
This litigation marks part of a broader wave of expected lawsuits orchestrated by Houston-based attorney Tony Buzbee and co-counsel Andrew Van Arsdale. They have previously announced representation of at least 120 alleged victims, including minors. Despite these claims, Combs and his legal team remain confident in their defense, asserting that the truth will be unveiled in court, stating Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone.
Combs is currently under federal custody, awaiting trial for an indictment on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges.
Prior to these new legal issues, Combs faced multiple civil lawsuits for various allegations of sexual misconduct and other illegal activities, which he has continuously denied. One particularly harrowing claim involves the alleged assault of a 16-year-old male during a White Party in the Hamptons in 1998. The claim details a scenario where Combs instructed the teenager to expose himself as a "rite of passage" towards stardom.
Another John Doe has accused Combs of assault while working as security at a 2006 White Party, alleging that Combs spiked his drinks before forcing him into a van and sexually assaulting him. Further, a third lawsuit implicates Combs, his businesses, and Macy’s, asserting that Combs sexually assaulted a plaintiff in the stockroom of Macy’s New York flagship store in 2008.
Additionally, a 19-year-old college student identified as Jane Doe recounts an incident in 2004 where she and a friend were invited to Combs' hotel after a photoshoot. According to the allegations, Combs threatened her friend to perform sexual acts under duress.
The lawsuits also feature claims from a female plaintiff recounting her encounter with Combs in 1995, alleging he forcibly kissed her, struck her head against a wall, and raped her when she tried to resist.
In the most recent claim from 2021, a John Doe describes attending a party at Combs' residence, where he was served a drink that left him incapacitated and unable to defend himself, subsequently resulting in his sexual assault by Combs and other men.
These grave accusations underscore a series of disturbing and complex legal challenges facing Sean Combs, with plaintiffs seeking justice and accountability for the alleged crimes committed.
