The intense situation, which included passengers being thrown from their seats, was captured on video.

The flight took off from Stockholm, Sweden, and had traveled more than halfway toward its final destination in Florida when it encountered extreme turbulence over Greenland. This led the pilot to make an emergency landing in Copenhagen, Denmark, to ensure the safety and well-being of all on board.

Video footage from the incident shows passengers being lifted out of their seats and some even striking the ceiling amid the chaos. The cabin was filled with 254 passengers, and the turbulence caused food, personal belongings, and other items to be scattered everywhere.

One passenger, recounting the event to ABC News, described how the turbulence became particularly distressing as the aircraft was approaching Canadian airspace. The decision was made to return to Europe to properly evaluate the situation.

An airline spokesperson confirmed that upon landing in Copenhagen, the passengers were greeted by a special assistance team. The team provided necessary information, addressed concerns, assisted with rebooking flights, and ensured the passengers' comfort. Passengers were either rebooked on other flights or accommodated in local hotels.

Despite the frightening experience, no serious injuries were reported. This contrasts with a similar incident that happened days earlier involving a Lufthansa flight from Argentina to Germany, which resulted in 11 injuries.

These events highlight the unpredictable nature of air travel, underscoring the importance of safety precautions and prompt responses to ensure passenger well-being.
