The San Francisco 49ers have secured the talents of wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk for the long term, as they announced the signing of a four-year contract extension that will keep him with the team until the 2028 season. Aiyuk, who was drafted by the 49ers in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has proven himself to be a special talent on the field, displaying a warrior-like mentality and a passion for the game that aligns perfectly with the team's ethos.

Since joining the 49ers in 2020, Aiyuk has made a significant impact on the team's offense. In his first four seasons with the team, Aiyuk has appeared in 62 games, starting in 60 of them. During this time, he has amassed an impressive 269 receptions for 3,931 yards, with an average of 14.6 yards per catch, and has found the end zone 25 times. Aiyuk's contributions have not gone unnoticed, as he has also made nine postseason starts, recording 24 receptions for 393 yards and one touchdown.

In recognition of his outstanding performances, Aiyuk was honored with Associated Press Second-Team All-Pro accolades in 2023. That season, Aiyuk showcased his abilities in 16 starts, racking up a career-high 1,342 receiving yards on 75 receptions, with an impressive average of 17.9 yards per catch. His yardage placed him seventh in the NFL, making him the first 49ers wide receiver since Anquan Boldin in the 2013-14 seasons to achieve consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. Aiyuk's average yards per reception also ranked as the second-highest in the league.

Hailing from Reno, NV, Aiyuk made a name for himself during his college years, attending Arizona State University. In his two seasons with the Sun Devils, he showcased his abilities with 98 receptions for 1,666 yards and 11 touchdowns. In his standout senior season in 2019, Aiyuk earned Third-Team All-America honors, amassing 65 receptions for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns.

Before his time at Arizona State, Aiyuk spent two seasons at Sierra College in Rocklin, CA. During his tenure, he recorded 89 receptions for 1,533 yards and an impressive 19 touchdowns in just 20 games.
