**Upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra to Feature 16 GB RAM Variant, Tipster Confirms**
The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be unveiled in early 2025, with recent benchmarks fueling excitement and speculation. Initial listings on Geekbench suggested there would be no change in memory capacity from previous models. However, Ice Universe, a well-known industry insider, has clarified otherwise.
In a recent post on X, Ice Universe confidently asserted that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is "100% confirmed" to include a variant featuring 16 GB of RAM. This information indicates that the Geekbench listing likely showcased the lower-end model, with the higher-end configuration yet to make its appearance on the benchmarking platform.
This potential increase in RAM is significant as it could allow Samsung to close the gap with other top smartphone manufacturers. Competitors such as OnePlus and Google have already made strides in boosting their devices' memory. The Pixel 9 Pro models, for instance, have upped their RAM, and OnePlus has been offering models with more than 12 GB of RAM since the OnePlus 11. Their latest flagship even reaches 24 GB of RAM.
Samsung, however, has offered 16 GB RAM configurations only in earlier models like the S20 Ultra and S21 Ultra, reverting to 12 GB in subsequent iterations. The present S24 Ultra model, currently priced at $1,049.99 on Amazon with 256 GB of storage, remains limited to 12 GB of RAM.
The increase to 16 GB in the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to enhance the performance of Samsung's memory-intensive AI features. Conversely, the vanilla S25 and S25 Plus versions seem to remain capped at 12 GB of RAM, as reported by @theonecid. These models are not anticipated to receive similar memory upgrades.
