### Quarterback Competition Heats Up in Cleveland; Potential Trade Looming

Last week’s practice in Cleveland saw an interesting dynamic unfold among the team's quarterbacks. Veteran Joe Flacco shared first-team reps with Kenny Pickett, while Gabriel and Sanders also participated in regular practice sessions. Deshaun Watson, still on the Browns roster, was notably absent as he recuperates from a torn Achilles tendon, leaving his future with the team in question.

Despite the competition for the starting position, Flacco mentioned that the quarterbacks are working together cohesively. He noted that younger players have approached him for advice, emphasizing the collaborative atmosphere. "The first day we're out here throwing routes, Shedeur was asking me about steps," Flacco said. "Dillon was trying to mimic my cadence. We spend a lot of time together, talking football and having fun."

With four quarterbacks in the lineup, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler suggested that the Browns might consider trading one during training camp. "I have a hard time thinking they keep four on the roster," Fowler remarked, hinting at possible roster adjustments ahead.

### Trey Hendrickson's Contract Dispute in Cincinnati

Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals are dealing with a contract dispute involving defensive end Trey Hendrickson. The 31-year-old, who led the NFL with 17.5 sacks last season, is reportedly steadfast in his contract demands. ESPN's Fowler and Ben Baby highlighted that although a quick resolution appears unlikely, Hendrickson has significant support from his teammates.

Quarterback Joe Burrow spoke highly of Hendrickson, saying, "He's a great player and deserves to get paid what he wants and what the market dictates. I hope he remains with us." Burrow’s backing underscores the high regard in which Hendrickson is held within the team.

### Pittsburgh and Miami in Trade Talks Over Jonnu Smith

Trade discussions have also surfaced between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Miami Dolphins involving tight end Jonnu Smith. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Pittsburgh is interested in acquiring Smith, who is fresh off a career-best season with 88 catches, 884 yards, and eight touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection.

Despite the trade rumors, Smith’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, emphasized his client’s preference to stay in Miami. "Jonnu would definitely like to remain with the Dolphins," Rosenhaus stated. He highlighted Smith’s record-breaking performance last season, noting his deep connection to Miami, both personally and professionally.

Smith's desire to continue with the Dolphins and his impressive statistical achievements add an intriguing layer to the ongoing trade discussions. Whether these talks result in a move remains to be seen, but the interest from Pittsburgh underscores Smith’s value in the league.
