Rocksteady's highly anticipated game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has been facing challenges since its launch in early February. While the game has avoided being a complete disaster as some had predicted after its lengthy development and multiple delays, it has failed to make a significant impact. One of the main criticisms revolves around the game's live service element, but players have found the endgame to be the most engaging part, despite it being a major grind to reach.

In an effort to maintain transparency and communication with the players, Rocksteady had promised weekly developer updates. However, the latest update has drawn attention for its lack of significant content. This could possibly be attributed to the developers working hard to fine-tune the game for the Season 1 launch, which will introduce the Joker as a new playable character. The upcoming content includes a new Elseworld to explore, a range of new weapons, gear, and missions, all of which will be available as free content for game owners.

Acknowledging that some players are still experiencing technical issues, Rocksteady assures them that they are aware of their frustrations and appreciates their patience. The developers have provided a Known Issues page where players can find workarounds for various problems while waiting for proper fixes. This level of transparency is commendable, even if some of the solutions involve simple steps like restarting the game or seeking assistance from NPCs like the Penguin for gear slot issues.

The update concludes with a promotion for Suicide Squad's digital deluxe edition, currently available at a 40% discount. The standard edition also holds the same discount until March 21. This sales tactic, hardly a month after the game's release, raises concerns about its performance, especially since the Warner Bros. financial report admitted that the game had fallen short of their expectations.

Despite the challenges faced, Rocksteady remains committed to supporting Suicide Squad in the long term. Plans for the first year include the introduction of an offline mode and the potential addition of playable character Mr. Freeze, unintentionally revealed through a Brainiac voice line. However, with Warner Bros.' history of taking drastic measures with underperforming products, the game needs to generate excitement and interest quickly.

The game will soon be launching on the Epic Games Store on March 26, with Season 1 kicking off on March 28 featuring the highly anticipated introduction of the Joker. Rocksteady hopes that these upcoming events will spark enthusiasm and breathe new life into the game.

As players eagerly await the game's future developments, it is evident that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League faces an uphill battle in meeting expectations. It remains to be seen whether the game can overcome its current struggles and regain momentum in the gaming community.
