**Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell Team Up for New Drama Series 'Half Man'**

Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell are set to headline the upcoming drama series "Half Man," a collaboration between HBO and the BBC. This six-episode project, originally titled "Lions," is created, written, and executive produced by Richard Gadd, the Emmy-winning talent behind Netflix's hit "Baby Reindeer."

The BBC initially commissioned "Lions" from Banijay UK's Mam Tor Productions back in February, prior to the success of "Baby Reindeer." Following its success, HBO joined as a co-producer in June, at which point Gadd was attached as the creator and executive producer but not slated to star. However, the project has since evolved, taking on the new title "Half Man," with Gadd now leading the cast alongside Bell.

Set to begin filming in 2025 in Scotland, "Half Man" centers around estranged "brothers" Ruben and Niall, portrayed by Gadd and Bell respectively. The story unfolds when Ruben appears at Niall's wedding, sparking a violent confrontation that spans back through their tumultuous lives. The series ambitiously covers almost four decades, from the 1980s to the present, exploring the brothers' dynamic relationship and the question of what it means to be a man.

Joining Gadd as executive producers are Tally Garner and Morven Reid from Mam Tor Productions, Gaynor Holmes for the BBC, and Gavin Smith for BBC Scotland. Directed by Alexandra Brodski and Eshref Reybrouck, with Wendy Griffin producing, "Half Man" promises to offer a deep dive into the highs and lows of familial bonds against the backdrop of a transforming world and city.

"Half Man" will air on HBO, BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and BBC Scotland, with international distribution managed by Banijay Rights. Screen Scotland is also supporting the production, which is set to bring fresh storytelling and robust performances to global audiences.
