In a recent interview on SiriusXM's "Jeff Lewis Live," actress Mindy Cohn revealed that the highly anticipated revival of the beloved sitcom "The Facts of Life" has been officially called off. Cohn cited unforeseen "drama" with a former co-star as the reason behind the decision.

The revival talks gained momentum following the success of the 2021 ABC special "Live in Front of a Studio Audience," which featured an all-star recreation of a classic episode. Producer Norman Lear, who passed away in December, expressed interest in reviving the series and contacted Cohn, along with surviving cast members Kim Fields, Nancy McKeon, and Lisa Whelchel.

Meetings were held via Zoom amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, and plans were underway to revive the show. However, discussions fell apart when one of the actors allegedly sought out a separate opportunity for a spinoff involving her character from the original series, which aired from 1979 to 1988. This unexpected betrayal devastated Cohn and the rest of the cast.

The unnamed co-star's actions were described as greedy, causing a wave of emotions among the long-standing friendship and sisterhood that had been forged over 40 years. Cohn's omission of the name left fans speculating about whether it was Fields or Whelchel who had contributed to the demise of the revival project.

Cohn's recent social media activity led some to suspect Fields, as she was notably absent from a joint appearance by Cohn, McKeon, and Whelchel on "The Drew Barrymore Show" earlier this year. Others pointed fingers at Whelchel, as she was not included in a group photo shared by Cohn on Instagram in 2022. Representatives for both Fields and Whelchel have not yet responded to inquiries regarding the situation.

Although Cohn hinted that she has made peace with the unidentified co-star, she emphasized that fans should not expect any future plans for a "Facts of Life" revival. She expressed sadness at the disruption of their long-standing commitment to not speak ill of each other and stressed that the revival is now truly "dead."

As fans eagerly awaited the possibility of revisiting the cherished sitcom, these unexpected behind-the-scenes complications have brought an unfortunate end to the revival plans. The legacy of "The Facts of Life" will remain intact, but the long-awaited revival is officially off the table.
