Reality TV Star Amy Slaton Halterman Arrested on Drug and Child Endangerment Charges at Tennessee Zoo

Reality TV personality Amy Slaton Halterman, known for her role in TLC's "1,000-lb Sisters," was recently arrested on Labor Day at a Tennessee zoo on charges of drug possession and child endangerment. The 36-year-old star, along with her companion Brian Scott Lovvorn, was charged with illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule VI substances, as well as two counts of child endangerment.

The incident unfolded when deputies from the Crockett County Sheriff's Department responded to a call at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo. The call regarded a guest who had allegedly been bitten by a camel at the drive and walk-through zoo. Upon arrival, deputies were immediately alerted to suspicious odors emanating from a vehicle associated with the guest.

Authorities have not revealed the exact cause of the suspicious odor, but Halterman and Lovvorn were found in the vehicle and subsequently charged. Both individuals were booked into the Crockett County Jail and were each given a $10,000 bond by a judge.

While it remains unclear who the victim of the alleged camel bite was, it is also uncertain whether Halterman's children were present during the incident. Halterman and her sister Tammy, who also appears on "1,000-lb Sisters," document their weight loss journeys on the reality show, which premiered on TLC in 2020.

The arrest of Amy Slaton Halterman comes as a surprise to fans who have followed her on the reality TV series. Authorities continue to investigate the incident at the Tennessee zoo and further details may emerge in due course.
