Former defensive tackle and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Steve McMichael, who was recently elected to the Hall of Fame, is showing signs of improvement after being hospitalized. McMichael, battling ALS, was admitted to the hospital yesterday but is responding well to treatment for a urinary tract infection. He is also undergoing a procedure to remove fluid from his lungs, with his family expressing optimism that he will be released in the coming days.

McMichael, a pivotal player for the Bears from 1981 to 1993 and a member of the iconic 1985 championship team, has been fighting ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Despite his health challenges, the hope of witnessing his Hall of Fame induction has served as a source of motivation for McMichael. The football community continues to offer support and prayers for his recovery during this challenging time.
