In a striking show of division within the British royal family, not a single member attended a church service to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Prince Harry's renowned Paralympic-style event for wounded veterans. The absence of Harry's family members highlights his exclusion from the royal fold, with King Charles opting instead to gather all working royals, excluding Prince William and Kate Middleton, for a grand garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Arriving at St Paul's Cathedral in a Range Rover, Prince Harry made his way up the steps alone, illustrating the growing chasm between him and his relatives. The church event only adds to Harry's already strained visit to London, which started with his public statement claiming that his father was too busy to meet with him and culminated in the palace's announcement of William becoming the head of Harry's former regiment.

It is hard to believe that the Invictus Games, an initiative greatly supported by Harry's father, King Charles III, brother Prince William, and the late Queen Elizabeth II herself, now finds itself stripped of royal affiliation. The event, once endorsed by the royal family, now faces criticism for not receiving the proper recognition it deserves.

While Charles hosted a grand garden party for an impressive 5,000 attendees on the magnificent lawn at Buckingham Palace, William made headlines of his own by hosting an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle honoring notable individuals. The contrasting events only served to overshadow Harry's significant day.

The lack of royal support for the Invictus Games has inadvertently left top British celebrities wary of being associated with Prince Harry for fear of facing repercussions from the king and William. Even the ceremony itself paled in comparison, with actor Damian Lewis being the most high-profile guest slated to read the iconic poem "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley, from which the organization draws its name.

As tensions mount within the royal family, some insiders believe that the lack of support for Harry's cause is a mistake. The refusal to endorse Invictus is seen as cutting off one's nose to spite one's face, as the organization embodies exactly the kind of charity the royal family should be endorsing. It is viewed as the potential bridgehead to rebuild the strained relationship between Harry and the royals.

However, the palace's decision not to throw the weight of the institution behind the Invictus Games reflects a strategic choice made within the Palace bubble. As outsiders observe royals visiting community centers and opening supermarkets, they might question why such an admirable charity spearheaded by the king's own son is being boycotted.

The exclusion of Prince Harry from the royal family event serves as a poignant reminder of the deepening divide within the monarchy. While some hope for reconciliation in the future, the absence of support for Invictus leaves a void that many believe should be filled by the royals themselves.
