In a surprising turn of events, the President of Archbishop Moeller High School has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested over the weekend in Nashville. The arrest took place after Marshall Hyzdu, 45, was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing, and public intoxication.
According to a Nashville police affidavit, officers responded to a "disorderly" individual in the 500 block of Broadway on Saturday. Security at a bar reported that Hyzdu had entered the establishment and began following women around, making them feel uncomfortable and annoyed. Despite being escorted out numerous times, Hyzdu returned to the bar approximately six times, even changing his clothing to alter his appearance.
The affidavit further revealed that security informed Hyzdu that he was no longer allowed inside the bar. However, he defied this warning and was subsequently taken into custody and booked into jail. The police deemed Hyzdu to be a danger to himself and others, leading to his arrest.
After being released, Hyzdu has been ordered to appear in court on April 5 to address the charges brought against him. Having served as president of Archbishop Moeller High School since 2016, this incident has now resulted in his immediate administrative leave. The decision was made by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, as announced by Carl Kremer, Principal of Moeller High School.
Kremer emphasized that the Moeller administration is actively working with the Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese and the Moeller Board to determine the next steps in light of this situation. He reassured the community that they remain committed to upholding the school's integrity and values throughout this challenging time.
While Hyzdu is on leave, the dedicated Moeller faculty and staff will continue to focus on their work and the education of the students. The school administration has requested the support and prayers of the community during this period of uncertainty.
As the case progresses, all eyes will be on the upcoming court appearance of Marshall Hyzdu, who now faces serious charges related to his behavior at the Nashville bar.
