The ticket matched five winning numbers in the drawing held on Saturday, March 16, but missed the Powerball number, as reported by the national Powerball site.

Unfortunately, no one managed to claim the grand prize during the Saturday draw, causing the jackpot to surge to an impressive estimated amount of $645 million. The cash value of the upcoming jackpot is expected to be approximately $307 million for the next drawing scheduled on Monday, March 18.

The winning numbers for the recent draw were 12, 23, 44, 57, and 61, with a Powerball number of 5. Notably, the winning ticket from Michigan was sold online, as stated by the Michigan Lottery. Around 50,000 other tickets in the state also won prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000.

Interestingly, tickets sold in New Jersey and South Carolina also managed to match five numbers but missed the Powerball number as well. Scoring the Powerball jackpot requires matching all five white balls and the red Powerball. The odds of hitting the jackpot are an astonishing 1 in 292,201,338.

Powerball tickets can be purchased for $2 and sales times may vary by state; they can be bought on the day of the drawing. The drawings are broadcast at 10:59 p.m. ET and can also be streamed online. Powerball is played across 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
