### Florida Gators Coach Considers Defamation Lawsuit Amid Misconduct Investigation

Florida Gators men's basketball coach Todd Golden announced on Saturday that he is contemplating a defamation lawsuit. The announcement came as the University of Florida investigates various misconduct claims against him.

Golden addressed the situation on social media, stating, "For the last month, I have actively participated in and respected the confidentiality of an ongoing school inquiry. I have recently engaged Ken Turkel to advise me on my ability to bring defamation claims while this confidential investigation is ongoing. My family and I appreciate the support we have received and remain confident the university will continue its efforts to finish its review properly."

The Independent Florida Alligator recently reported that the school launched an investigation into allegations against Golden, involving sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, stalking, and cyberstalking multiple women, including students. The claims include unwanted sexual advances on Instagram, soliciting sexual favors, and sending explicit photos and videos. These accusations were referenced in a Title IX complaint filed on September 29.

Golden, 39, who recently secured a two-year contract extension in March that increased his annual salary to $4 million, remains with the team during the investigation. Despite the scrutiny, he led an on-campus practice on Saturday ahead of the game welcoming Grambling State to Gainesville.
