**Pope Leo XIV To Share Special Message With Chicagoans At White Sox Celebration**
Chicagoans will soon have the opportunity to hear directly from their hometown pontiff, Pope Leo XIV, during a special event at Rate Field. Announced by the Archdiocese of Chicago, Pope Leo will deliver a "special video message to the young people of the world" during a celebration on June 14.
The celebration will take place at the home of the Chicago White Sox, located at 333 W. 35th St., and will include a Catholic Mass, music, film, and testimonials sharing insights into Pope Leo’s life and achievements. The event is set to start at 2:30 p.m., with the Mass planned for 4 p.m. Gates will open to the public at 12:30 p.m.
Pope Leo XIV, a lifelong White Sox fan who was born on the South Side, will have his message broadcasted first from this June 14 event. Details regarding tickets will be released by the archdiocese in due course.
In a nod to Pope Leo's cherished connection with the team, the White Sox have installed a graphic display in his honor on the lower concourse. This tribute is located near the spot where Pope Leo watched the Sox take on the Astros in game one of the 2005 World Series.
