Pope Francis, 87, has been struggling with a bout of flu, leading to the cancellation of some of his activities. This is not the first time the pontiff has faced health issues, having previously dealt with lung problems and undergone surgeries. Despite his frail health, Pope Francis has no intentions of retiring soon but has already made plans for a 'simple funeral' and expressed a desire to be buried in Rome's Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. The pope's declining health has prompted him to work on simplifying the elaborate funeral rites for a pope, emphasizing a more humble approach in line with his beliefs. Despite acknowledging the limitations of old age, Pope Francis continues to reaffirm his commitment to serving until the Lord's will dictates otherwise.
