Renowned Philadelphia broadcasting figure Howard Eskin has found himself embroiled in a controversy that has caught the attention of the Eagles, as he serves as the team's sideline reporter for radio broadcasts. According to a report by Ximena Conde of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Eskin has been banned from attending Phillies games at Citizens Bank Park for the remainder of the season. The decision comes after an investigation revealed that he had made an unwelcome advance towards a female Aramark employee earlier this year.

The incident occurred in May, as confirmed by Audacy, Eskin's employer, in a statement to the Inquirer. The statement acknowledged that Eskin, at the age of 73, had given the Aramark employee an unwelcome kiss at the ballpark. In response, Audacy promptly launched an investigation and took immediate action to address the matter.

Audacy's decision to ban Eskin from Phillies games for the rest of the season was supported by the Phillies organization. In their statement to the Inquirer, the team expressed their cooperation and support for Audacy and Aramark's investigations. The Phillies stated, "We support Audacy's decision to suspend Howard Eskin from Citizens Bank Park."

The controversy surrounding Eskin's conduct has also extended beyond the baseball field. Notably, the NBA's 76ers have already banned him from attending games for the upcoming season. However, as of now, the NHL's Flyers have not taken such action.

The Eagles, being aware of the situation, have stated that they are closely monitoring the developments and maintaining communication with Audacy, Eskin's employer. It remains to be seen how this controversy will impact Eskin's role as the Eagles' sideline reporter moving forward.

The banishment from Phillies games and the actions taken by the 76ers have unquestionably cast a shadow over Eskin's previously revered status as a Philadelphia broadcasting icon. As the investigation continues and the fallout from Eskin's misconduct unfolds, it is evident that his actions have had a significant impact on his professional standing within the city's sports broadcasting community.
