### Flyers Re-Sign Forward Noah Cates to a Four-Year Contract

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced the re-signing of forward Noah Cates to a four-year contract extension. The deal, which averages an annual value of $4 million, was confirmed by General Manager Daniel Briere.

Cates, 26, has been a consistent performer for the Flyers, recording 37 points, including 16 goals and 21 assists, in 78 games this past season. His performance places him seventh in points and fifth in goals on the team. Additionally, the two-way centerman boasts a plus-three rating this season, ranking second on the club in plus/minus.

Drafted by the Flyers in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft, Cates has spent his entire career in Philadelphia. Over 235 career NHL games, he has accumulated 40 goals and 62 assists for a total of 102 points. He made his NHL debut on April 29, 2022, in Minnesota, where he also scored his first NHL goal on April 5, 2022, against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Before making his mark in the NHL, Cates played four years at the University of Minnesota Duluth. During his collegiate career from 2018 to 2022, he helped lead the team to an NCAA National Championship in 2019 and was a key player in their Frozen Four appearance in 2021 and Final Eight finish in 2022. Cates ended his college career with 99 points from 39 goals and 60 assists in 139 games and served as team captain during his junior and senior seasons.

Cates has also represented the United States in international play. He played at the 2019 Under-20 World Junior Championship, contributing a goal and two assists to help secure a silver medal. Additionally, he served as an assistant captain at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, where he scored one goal in four games.

The Flyers are optimistic that Cates' continued presence will prove invaluable as they look ahead to the upcoming seasons.
