A tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening as a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 146 North in Sutton, according to the Massachusetts State Police. The collision took place around 6:35 p.m., which resulted in the pedestrian being pronounced dead upon arrival at UMass Memorial Medical Center. The state police are currently investigating the crash, with the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and detectives from the Worcester County District Attorney's Office all involved in the investigation.

Authorities have not disclosed whether the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene or if efforts are underway to locate them. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation reported that two left lanes on Route 146 North were closed for investigation and cleanup purposes but later reopened before 9 p.m., leaving one travel lane open for commuters.
