Milwaukee Bucks star and Barstool Sports podcast host, Patrick Beverley, finds himself facing uncertainty over his participation in ESPN studio shows following a recent incident during and after the Bucks' Game 6 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Known for his fierce on-court demeanor, Beverley inadvertently crossed a line during the game when he threw a ball at a Pacers fan who allegedly taunted him and the team by referencing a popular vacation destination. This action drew widespread criticism and raised questions about Beverley's sportsmanship.

The controversy did not end there. After the game, Beverley refused an interview with ESPN producer Malinda Adams, citing her lack of support for his podcast as the reason. Although he later apologized to Adams, his arrogant response immediately drew backlash from ESPN personalities such as Brian Windhorst and Stephen A. Smith.

Beverley had been a frequent guest on ESPN studio shows like First Take and Get Up, making several appearances during the 2022 NBA playoffs. The question of whether he would transition into a regular media role had also been raised. However, conflicting reports now claim that ESPN management has banned Beverley from future guest appearances on studio shows.

Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported the ban on Twitter, stating that Beverley's future on ESPN was uncertain. However, Austin Karp of Sports Business Journal refuted this claim, saying that his sources indicate Beverley is not being banned from ESPN airwaves.

The truth, it seems, lies somewhere in the middle. Andrew Marchand of The Athletic suggested that while the word "banned" may be inaccurate, Beverley is unlikely to serve as an ESPN analyst anytime soon. Marchand also mentioned that ESPN had already made the decision that Beverley would not hold that role for them, even before this incident occurred.

In response to the corrections, McCarthy remained steadfast in his belief that Beverley is indeed banned from appearing on ESPN programming, accusing the network of backpedaling.

Regardless of the outcome, Beverley has other avenues to fall back on. His Barstool Sports-backed podcast, The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone, has garnered a significant following, particularly on YouTube, with over 260,000 subscribers. This podcast offers an alternative platform for Beverley to engage with his audience and express his opinions.

As of now, it remains to be seen whether Beverley will be able to make amends and eventually return as a guest on ESPN studio shows. The controversy surrounding his actions serves as a reminder that maintaining professionalism both on and off the court is crucial for athletes seeking a future in media.
