### Fans Attempt to Take Oakland Coliseum Seats as Souvenirs
As the cherished era of the Oakland Coliseum draws to a close for the Oakland Athletics, fans are eager to take pieces of their favorite memories home. In an extreme act of fandom, two dedicated supporters attempted to remove and carry out a pair of stadium seats following the Athletics' 5-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night.
A viral video captured the remarkable moment when the two fans lifted the dislodged seats above their heads in triumph, eliciting cheers from the surrounding section. It's hard not to admire their dedication, as extracting those seats from the concrete likely required considerable effort.
However, their mission was ultimately unsuccessful. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Athletics organization confirmed the authenticity of the video and noted that security personnel intervened before the fans could leave the premises with their prized seats. The seats were promptly returned to their original locations.
With only a few games left at the Oakland Coliseum, fans are intent on savoring every last moment. While many will take home fond memories, it seems they will have to leave the seats—and the rest of the stadium—intact. The Athletics will face the Rangers again on Wednesday, with their final game at the Coliseum marking the end of the series on Thursday night.
