In a recent report by 404 Media, it was revealed that Nintendo had been previously affected by leaked information originating from a Google employee who gained unauthorized access to private YouTube videos. The Google employee's activity, which involved accessing confidential content, was determined to be "non-intentional" by an internal review conducted by Google.

The report by 404 Media is based on a copy of an internal Google database that tracks potential privacy and security issues spanning six years. This extensive database contains thousands of incidents that were reported by employees themselves, shedding light on various privacy breaches and security concerns. Among these incidents are instances of accidentally collecting children's voice data and the transcribing and storage of license plate numbers from Google Street View photos.

Although it remains unclear which specific announcements were impacted by the Nintendo leaks, the database report covers incidents that occurred between 2013 and 2018. Notably, rumors surrounding Nintendo's upcoming releases have often been attributed to a leaker known as Pyoro. Pyoro has gained recognition for having a seemingly impeccable track record in providing accurate information about content in Nintendo Directs before their official airing. However, the leaked information concerning Nintendo does not appear to originate from YouTube, contrary to initial speculations.

The incident highlights the potential risks associated with unauthorized access to private online content and the need for robust security measures to safeguard sensitive information. Both Nintendo and Google are expected to address this matter and possibly implement additional security measures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

As fans eagerly await official announcements and updates from Nintendo, it is crucial to remain cautious when consuming leaked information and ensure that the sources are reliable and authorized.
