In a candid interview with People magazine, Nicole Brown Simpson's sisters, Dominique Brown, Tanya Brown, and Denise Brown, have broken their silence about the death of their former brother-in-law, OJ Simpson. The infamous football star, who was acquitted of Nicole's murder in the 1990s, recently passed away at the age of 76 after battling cancer.

Describing their emotions as complex and mixed, Dominique, Tanya, and Denise shared their perspectives on OJ's death. "It's very complicated," said Dominique, while Tanya added, "This is a person who's been in our life for a very long time, who wreaked havoc on our family. It's like the end of a chapter."

The sisters reminisced about the early days of Nicole's relationship with OJ. Nicole introduced Dominique and Denise to OJ in 1977, when she was just 18 years old and he impressed them with his football skills. However, as Denise recalled, OJ's anger erupted when he witnessed Nicole kissing a mutual male friend on the cheek at a game.

Over the years, the sisters witnessed concerning behavior from OJ. Denise shared that Nicole, while pregnant with their daughter Sydney Simpson, faced body-shaming comments from OJ who referred to her as a "fat pig." Nicole had hoped that having a child would change their relationship dynamics, but it didn't seem to improve the situation.

Tragically, Nicole was stabbed to death in June 1994 at the age of 35, leaving the sisters devastated. Denise confessed that her immediate reaction upon hearing the news was, "Oh my God, he did it. He finally did it." Tanya also pointed to DNA evidence, including blood found in OJ's white Bronco and at his house, as further confirming her belief in his guilt.

The sisters reflected on Nicole's life before her untimely death, highlighting a period of freedom and levity. "What no one knows she experienced before her death is freedom," Dominique shared. Tanya added that Nicole "had a good time" during the last two years of her life.

Although OJ was acquitted of the murders in his highly publicized trial, he was later found liable for Nicole and Ron Goldman's deaths in a civil lawsuit. OJ's recent passing from prostate cancer was undoubtedly a complex moment for the Brown sisters, who have had to grapple with his presence in their lives since Nicole's tragic murder.

In addition to Sydney and Justin Simpson, Nicole and OJ's children, OJ is survived by his two children from his first marriage, Arnelle Simpson and Jason Simpson. OJ's first marriage ended in tragedy when his daughter Aaren Simpson drowned in the family's swimming pool in 1979 at the age of 1.

As the Brown sisters continue to remember their sister Nicole and grapple with their complicated history with OJ, their voices shed light on the intricate emotions that surround this chapter in their lives.
