### Nick Cannon Discusses His Journey with Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Television host Nick Cannon recently opened up about his experiences with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), shedding light on his mental health journey in a candid interview with People. Cannon, who is widely recognized for hosting "The Masked Singer," revealed his diagnosis at the age of 44 and shared the impact it has had on his life.
In the interview, Cannon explained that he had always been curious about his mental health and had undergone various tests. He acknowledged his past struggles with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and dyslexia, noting that he had always felt "neurodivergent." Although admitting he still does not fully grasp the complexities of NPD, Cannon expressed a desire to embrace his diagnosis and seek healing through therapy.
"There's so many labels out there, but it's like, to be able to embrace it and say, 'Look, I'm healing. I need help. Show me,'" Cannon continued. "I just embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way. To be able to say I'm an example for others, but also be healing during the self-process works too."
Cannon first disclosed his NPD diagnosis earlier this month on his podcast, "Counsel Culture," during a conversation with Dr. Cheyenne Bryant. He revealed that he had been "clinically diagnosed" with the disorder and identified with nearly all of its markers. By educating himself about NPD, Cannon stated that he has taken away the power from the term and now feels more comfortable discussing it openly.
Adding to the family's journey, Cannon's two-year-old son Zillion, whom he shares with Abby De La Rosa, was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The parents announced Zillion's diagnosis on Instagram for World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, celebrating their son's unique qualities and dynamic nature.
"Today our family recognizes World Autism Awareness Day which is beyond meaningful to us because our amazing two-year-old, Zillion, was recently diagnosed with ASD - joining the unique energy of others like Nikola Tesla, Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and Michelangelo, just to name a few dynamic individuals," they shared in a heartfelt post.
In addition to Zillion, Cannon and De La Rosa are also parents to Zillion's twin brother, Zion, and daughter, Beautiful Zeppelin. Cannon's large family also includes twins Moroccan and Monroe, whom he shares with singer Mariah Carey, and several other children with partners Brittany Bell, Bre Tiesi, LaNisha Cole, and Alyssa Scott.
Cannon's openness about his mental health underscores the importance of seeking help and breaking the stigma around such conditions.
