NHL on TNT Unveils Exciting 2024-25 Season Schedule, Featuring Blockbuster Matchups and Exclusive Coverage

In a much-anticipated announcement, the NHL on TNT has revealed an action-packed 62-game schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 NHL season. The season will kick off on Wednesday, October 9, with a thrilling doubleheader featuring some of the league's biggest stars.
The opening week will be headlined by a clash between future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby and his Pittsburgh Penguins as they host Artemi Panarin and the New York Rangers, winners of the 2024 Presidents' Trophy. This highly-anticipated matchup will take place at 7:30 p.m. ET, setting the stage for an exciting season opener.
Later that evening, fans will be treated to a showdown between the 2022 and 2023 Stanley Cup champions, as Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche go head-to-head against Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights at 10 p.m.
One of the highlights of the NHL on TNT's coverage will be the exclusive broadcast of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final, along with covering half of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, including the First Round, Second Round, and Conference Final. Fans can enjoy all the regular season and playoff games, as well as pre and postgame coverage, which will be simulcast on truTV and available for streaming on Max's B/R Sports Add-On.
Throughout the regular season, the NHL on TNT will provide viewers with exclusive coverage on 25 Wednesday nights, showcasing the biggest stars and rivalries in hockey. Fans can also look forward to the annual Thanksgiving Showdown doubleheader on Black Friday, November 29, as well as six weeks of Sunday games starting in February 2025, including tripleheaders on March 2 and April 6.
One of the marquee events on the schedule is the highly-anticipated Discover NHL Winter Classic on New Year's Eve. This year, the game will feature Calder Memorial Trophy winner Connor Bedard making his outdoor game debut at the iconic Wrigley Field. Bedard's Chicago Blackhawks will go up against Jordan Kyrou and the St. Louis Blues in what promises to be an unforgettable matchup.
The NHL on TNT will also bring fans three exciting 4 Nations Face-Off games. Notable matchups include Sweden vs. Canada on Wednesday, February 12, and a Presidents' Day doubleheader on Monday, February 17, featuring Finland vs. Canada and Sweden vs. USA.
Other thrilling matchups to look out for include Alex Ovechkin's Washington Capitals taking on the Philadelphia Flyers on October 23, the Tampa Bay Lightning facing the Golden Knights on Thanksgiving Eve, and an Original Six showdown between the Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks on December 4.
The regular season will conclude with a doubleheader on April 16, featuring Dylan Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings battling it out against Jack Hughes and the New Jersey Devils, followed by the Vancouver Canucks hosting the Vegas Golden Knights.
