### National Hurricane Center Monitors Atlantic Disturbance with Potential for Development

TAMPA, Fla. — Meteorologists at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) have turned their attention to a disturbance situated in the far eastern part of the Atlantic Ocean. According to the NHC's Sunday morning report, the system faces a 30% chance of developing as it progresses westward or southwestward across the tropical Atlantic over the next week.

Currently positioned a few hundred miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, the disturbance is projected to soon move into an environment less favorable for cyclonic formation. Despite this, its westward journey could eventually lead it into conditions more supportive of development by mid-week.

The NHC intends to closely monitor the system over the upcoming 10 days, as the likelihood of development may increase by the next weekend. At present, it remains uncertain whether this system will impact Florida, which has already faced significant weather challenges with Hurricanes Helene and Milton this past month.

Residents and concerned parties are advised to stay updated with the latest advisories from the National Hurricane Center as the situation evolves.
