In the midst of mandatory minicamp, a cloud of uncertainty loomed over the New York Jets as star quarterback Aaron Rodgers remained absent. However, head coach Robert Saleh dismissed any rumors of tension, rift, or disconnect with Rodgers during a press conference on Wednesday.

Saleh addressed the confusion that arose when he referred to Rodgers' absence as "unexcused" in a previous statement. He clarified that he and Rodgers are on the same page and that he was aware of the quarterback's plans. Saleh emphasized that there is no issue between Rodgers and his teammates.

"The issue regarding Aaron's absence has been addressed internally," Saleh assured. He added, "This is more of a concern for those outside our organization than it is for us inside."

While Rodgers' absence certainly draws attention, the Jets are also contending with pass rusher Haason Reddick's desire for a new contract. According to the league's collective bargaining agreement, both Rodgers and Reddick are subject to rolling fines for skipping this week's sessions.

Rodgers, who missed the majority of last season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, has been present at the team facility for most of the offseason. However, he was absent on Tuesday and reportedly has not been in contact with Saleh in the past 24 hours. Backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor took the majority of first-team reps during practice in Rodgers' absence.

Saleh sidestepped questions about why Taylor was not informed about Rodgers' attendance, stating that it was a private conversation that did not involve the team.

While Rodgers' absence may not be a huge concern on its own, the lack of clarity concerning his whereabouts has sparked speculation and unwanted drama for the Jets during a relatively quiet period in the NFL calendar.

Nevertheless, Saleh expressed satisfaction with the team's performance in practice, even without Rodgers or Reddick. "I thought yesterday's practice was filled with energy and determination," Saleh remarked.

Looking ahead, the Jets are hopeful that both Rodgers and Reddick will be present at training camp in approximately five weeks. The expectation remains for their star players to return and continue making strides toward a successful season.
