In a flurry of roster moves, the New England Patriots have officially cut wide receiver Jalen Reagor, cornerback Isaiah Bolden, offensive lineman Michael Jordan, and defensive lineman Trysten Hill, according to reports. The Patriots made these moves as part of their corresponding 53-man roster adjustments, just before the NFL's 12 p.m. ET deadline.
Jalen Reagor, 25, joined the Patriots last August as part of the practice squad. The former Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings player appeared in 45 games, with 24 starts, prior to his arrival in Foxborough. Reagor was promoted to the active roster last season and made a significant impact, accumulating 138 receiving yards, 17 rushing yards, 221 return yards, and even a 98-yard touchdown in 11 games. The Patriots re-signed the 5-foot-11, 197-pound wide receiver in March.
Cornerback Isaiah Bolden, 24, had his rookie year cut short due to an injury but managed to secure a spot on the Patriots' initial 53-man roster this season. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 205 pounds, Bolden was a seventh-round pick from Florida State and Jackson State in the 2023 NFL draft. During the preseason, he showcased his skills with four tackles, one sack, and one start in the secondary and special teams.
Michael Jordan, 26, who signed a futures contract with New England in January, saw action during the preseason playing at both guard positions and as an eligible tight end. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound offensive lineman was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft and has since made appearances in 55 games, including 29 starts, for teams such as the Panthers and Packers.
Defensive lineman Trysten Hill, 26, impressed during the preseason with several quarterback pressures, earning himself a spot on the Patriots' 53-man roster. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 310 pounds, Hill, a former second-round pick from Central Florida, has accumulated 39 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his NFL career. He previously played for the Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals, and Cleveland Browns.
As the Patriots made these cuts, they also announced new additions to their roster earlier in the day. Head coach Jerod Mayo's cabinet claimed offensive tackle Zachary Thomas from the Los Angeles Rams, offensive tackle Demontrey Jacobs from the Denver Broncos, defensive tackle Eric Johnson from the Indianapolis Colts, and linebacker Curtis Jacobs from the Kansas City Chiefs.
The New England Patriots have made some tough decisions, but with their roster now set, they will be looking forward to the upcoming NFL season and the challenges that lie ahead.
