Logan International Airport in Boston will receive $12 million to expand and renovate its traffic control tower. Bradley International Airport near Hartford, Connecticut, has been allocated $5.4 million for terminal expansion and renovation projects. Portland International Jetport in Maine is slated to receive $10.4 million to upgrade passenger boarding bridges and make other enhancements.
This federal funding is part of a larger initiative to strengthen the nation's air travel infrastructure, with a total of 114 airports across the country benefitting from the investment. Smaller airports in New England are also included in the plan, such as Concord Municipal Airport in New Hampshire, which will receive over $2.5 million to construct a new terminal building and demolish its existing 80-year-old structure.
These improvements aim to enhance the efficiency and quality of air travel in the region, ensuring a smoother experience for passengers and supporting the growth of the aviation industry.
