### Netflix Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Streaming Issues During Tyson-Paul Fight

Netflix is at the center of a class action lawsuit filed this week concerning widespread streaming problems during the highly anticipated bout between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. The lawsuit, brought forward in the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Hillsborough County, alleges the platform failed to deliver a seamless viewing experience for millions of eager viewers.

The complaint, obtained and reviewed by TheWrap, emphasizes that what was billed as a historic fight night turned into a night of frustration due to consistent buffering and blocked coverage. One vivid phrase from the lawsuit described Netflix’s performance as "The Baddest Streaming on the Planet," a play on Tyson's nickname, "The Baddest Man on the Planet."

Despite Netflix’s attempts to mitigate the disruptions, social media was ablaze with complaints from viewers who had settled in to watch the fight. Although an individual familiar with the situation confirmed that the streaming giant worked quickly to stabilize the feed for most users, the damage to the event's reputation had been done.

Netflix’s Chief Technology Officer, Elizabeth Stone, acknowledged the streaming issues but framed the event as a success with room for improvement. Stone highlighted the technical challenges posed by the unprecedented scale of the fight, which saw 65 million live concurrent streams and a total of 108 million viewers globally.

The lawsuit was filed by Ronald "Blue" Denton on behalf of all affected users. Denton accused Netflix of failing to meet its contractual obligations and engaging in deceptive trade practices by continuing to charge subscribers despite the inadequate service. The class action seeks to address the monetary losses and inconvenience suffered by subscribers due to these streaming glitches.

As Netflix evaluates this latest legal challenge, it remains to be seen how the platform will address these critical technical issues in future high-profile events.
