In an eventful week, Nelly Korda, the No. 1 player in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings, showcased her versatility both on and off the golf course. Korda, known for her exceptional golf skills, demonstrated her passion for nurturing young talent by hosting the inaugural edition of The Nelly Invitational, a tournament for 66 junior female golfers held at Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida.

The AJGA event allowed Korda, who once participated in junior tournaments herself, to give back to the sport that has brought her tremendous success. Despite not being able to personally hand out the trophy, Korda expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to welcome the next generation of golfers and highlighted the support of her sponsors and the graciousness of Concession Golf Club in hosting the event.

Additionally, Korda took the chance to shine a light on a local animal shelter, an initiative close to her heart. Marvel, a dog up for adoption from Satchel's Last Resort Rescue and Sanctuary, joined the event, bringing joy to the participants and reminding Korda of the authenticity found in the presence of a lovable puppy.

Following an enriching experience at The Nelly, Korda traveled to New York City to attend the prestigious Met Gala. As a guest of Casey Wasserman, Korda had the opportunity to walk the red carpet alongside prominent figures from the fashion, film, music, sports, and television industries. Sharing her childhood dream come true, Korda expressed her awe at the splendid garments on display and cherished the chance to mingle with renowned personalities like Shakira and Jaden Smith.

Korda's stunning attire, a floral ankle-length gown designed by Oscar de la Renta, garnered attention from Vogue.com and received rave reviews from her fellow LPGA Tour players. Amidst the glitz and glamour, Korda humbly acknowledged that her dress choice was a last-minute change, opting for a red poppy-themed ensemble that perfectly aligned with this year's Met Gala theme, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion."

Returning to her golfing duties at Upper Montclair Country Club, Korda commenced her campaign in the Cognizant Founders Cup with a solid round of 3-under 69. Mindful of the challenges posed by the narrow fairways, Korda remained focused on each shot, determined to perform better than her previous year's performance at the event.

Although the potential for claiming a historic sixth consecutive victory looms large, Korda's mindset remains rooted in the present. She refuses to dwell on milestones and accolades, preferring to concentrate on her game and maintain her "bubble" on the course. Korda acknowledges that achieving a six-title streak would be remarkable, but she is already proud of her accomplishments thus far.

Regardless of the outcome in New Jersey, it is evident that Nelly Korda's impact extends far beyond her golfing prowess. As she nurtures young talent through hosting tournaments and promotes causes she cares deeply about, Korda has firmly established herself as the "next big thing" in women's golf.
