In the latest projections for the NCAA baseball tournament bracket, D1Baseball reveals some significant changes in the top eight seeds. The field is still fluid, with conference tournament performances playing a crucial role in determining the final lineup.

One major change in the top eight is the emergence of Big 12 regular season champion, Oklahoma. After winning the league by three games and boasting a strong RPI, Oklahoma has secured a place in the top eight seeds. On the other hand, Wake Forest dropped out of the top eight and will need a strong showing in the ACC tournament to regain their position.

Joining Oklahoma in the top eight seeds are Georgia, Florida State, Oregon State, NC State, and Virginia, all of whom are still in contention for a top-eight ranking. Oregon State and NC State, in particular, have been making significant strides recently.

As the conference tournament week begins, the battle for the final few host spots in the top 16 remains intense. Mississippi State, despite dropping a few spots in the RPI after a loss to Missouri (though they won the series), currently sits at 17 on the projected bracket board, behind Indiana State, East Carolina, and Oklahoma State. The final host spot is held by Oklahoma State, who finished second in the Big 12 and boasts a solid RPI.

Conference tournaments will play a vital role in reshaping the bracket in this range, adding more uncertainty to the selection process. Currently, the SEC leads the pack with 11 teams in the projected field, followed by the ACC with eight teams, and the Big 12 with seven teams. The Sun Belt conference showcases a strong presence with five teams, while the Pac-12 and the Coastal Athletic Association each have three teams in the mix. The rest of the conferences have two or fewer teams in the projected Field of 64.

With Selection Monday around the corner, the NCAA tournament picture remains fluid, and fans can expect more changes in the bracket. Stay tuned as the conference tournaments unfold and guide the final adjustments to the projected field of 64.
