**NBA Reopens Investigation into Jaxson Hayes Following Release of New Video**

The NBA has decided to reopen its investigation into Los Angeles Lakers player Jaxson Hayes after TMZ released new home security footage over the weekend. The video, which shows an altercation involving Hayes and his then-girlfriend in 2021, reignites scrutiny over the incident that led to Hayes' arrest, tasing, and subsequent hospitalization.

Back in 2021, while playing for the New Orleans Pelicans, Hayes was charged with 12 misdemeanors, including inflicting corporal injury, destroying property, and resisting a police officer, according to reports from TMZ. The altercation occurred in Los Angeles during the NBA offseason. Hayes eventually pleaded no contest to charges of false imprisonment and resisting an officer, with the remaining 10 counts dismissed. His sentencing included three years of probation, 450 hours of community service, and mandatory weekly domestic violence classes.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick addressed the situation, affirming the team's knowledge of the reopened investigation. "We're obviously aware that the investigation has been reopened and we're going to cooperate fully. But other than that, I'm not going to have another comment on that," Redick stated, as reported by Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

Initially, the NBA conducted an investigation into the 2021 incident but did not impose disciplinary actions on Hayes. The release of the new footage has prompted the league to reassess the case, potentially leading to different outcomes this time around.

As the NBA revisits the case, the focus will be on ensuring full cooperation from all parties involved and determining if any additional measures are necessary.
