Pollard's wife, Dawn Pollard, shared on social media that Scot is "awake and feeling great" after the surgery. The journey to find a suitable donor heart was complicated due to Pollard's size, but earlier on Friday, Dawn Pollard announced that a heart had been found. The family expressed gratitude towards the donor and their family for the gift of life.

Having had a successful basketball career, including winning an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics, Pollard later transitioned to broadcasting and acting.
