The NASCAR Cup Series is revving up for a high-octane weekend as it heads to the blisteringly fast Michigan International Speedway. Known for its breathtaking speeds, the 2-mile track saw the fastest pole speed of the season in 2023, reaching a staggering 193.382 mph. This weekend promises more of the same, with cars likely to hit 200 mph as they rocket into the corners.

**23XI Racing: Returning Champions and Mixed Fortunes**

23XI Racing had much to celebrate after placing multiple cars in the top 10 at Nashville, a feat they've only achieved twice this season. Bubba Wallace claimed sixth place and Tyler Reddick finished ninth. Reddick will return to Michigan with fond memories, having triumphed in last year's race. However, not all news was good; Riley Herbst stands among the four full-time drivers who missed out on qualifying for the upcoming in-season tournament.

**Front Row Motorsports: Consistency and Crashes**

Front Row Motorsports is riding a wave of consistent performances. Todd Gilliland has finished 18th or better in six of the last eight races, while Zane Smith boasts four top-20 finishes in the last five. Yet, the team faces a setback as Noah Gragson suffered a crash at Nashville, resulting in a 38th-place finish—his second dismal result in the last four races.

**Hendrick Motorsports: Top Billing Under Threat**

Hendrick Motorsports remains the only team with a car finishing in the top five in all 14 points races this season. Kyle Larson has a strong record at Michigan with four finishes of seventh or better in his last five races and three career wins. William Byron is performing exceptionally, with an average finish of 9.2 this season, his best ever. Conversely, Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott find themselves struggling—Bowman has six finishes of 27th or worse in the last eight races, and Elliott hasn’t secured a top-10 finish in his last three Michigan outings.

**Joe Gibbs Racing: Looking for Glory**

Joe Gibbs Racing heads to Michigan with hopes pinned on Denny Hamlin’s consistency, as he has seven consecutive top-10 finishes at this venue. Chase Briscoe starts strong, with poles in the last two races and three in total this season. While Christopher Bell aims to improve upon his best Michigan finish of 13th, Ty Gibbs showcases an impressive average finish of 8.0 at the track. However, the team hasn’t won at Michigan since 2015, and recent performances, including Hamlin's win drought since 2011, may cast a shadow.

**RFK Racing: Eyes on History**

RFK Racing has a storied past at Michigan with 14 wins, more than any other team. Brad Keselowski is particularly notable, holding the most top-five and top-10 finishes at Michigan among any winless Cup track on his resume. Chris Buescher also shines with two top-six finishes in his last two outings, including a victory. Despite recent struggles, RFK Racing remains a formidable contender.

As teams prepare for the demanding challenge of Michigan International Speedway, fans can look forward to another thrilling chapter in this year's NASCAR Cup Series.
