A group of amusement park visitors suffered injuries on Saturday evening following a tram accident at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, California. The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. P.T., prompting the dispatch of the Los Angeles County Fire Department to the scene.

According to reports, 15 patients with minor injuries were transferred by emergency responders to local hospitals. Unfortunately, one person sustained critical injuries, as confirmed by NBC Los Angeles. Details regarding the circumstances of the accident were not provided by a spokesperson for Universal Studios Hollywood.

In a statement, the theme park acknowledged the incident and expressed their commitment to supporting the affected guests. The spokesperson stated, "We are working to support our guests and understand the circumstances that led to the accident."

The investigation into the incident is being led by the California Highway Patrol. However, as of Sunday morning, the agency has not released further information regarding the accident.

Coincidentally, the Universal Studios tram tour is set to commemorate its 60th anniversary on Friday, according to the park's website. The tour offers visitors the opportunity to ride a tram through behind-the-scenes locations of famous films produced by the studio. Accompanied by tour guides, guests can learn about the history of the lot, although the actual filming locations may vary. One popular attraction on the tour is a recreation of a "Jaws"-style shark attack.
