In a shocking incident that unfolded on Tuesday afternoon, Worcester Police have confirmed that a mother and daughter were shot and killed in a horrifying ambush. The victims have been identified as Chasity Nunez and her daughter, Zella Nunez.

According to eyewitness accounts, the neighborhood was shaken by the sound of multiple gunshots, with one resident, Linda Orcutt, estimating to have heard around 12 shots in rapid succession. The victims were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically succumbed to their injuries.

The incident has left the community in a state of shock and fear, particularly for parents whose children attend school during the same time frame. Nichole Ostiguy, a local resident, expressed her deep concern and anxiety, stating that even the simple act of picking up her son now feels incredibly daunting in light of the tragedy.

Worcester Police have not yet made any arrests in connection with the ambush, and a motive for the attack remains unknown. Following the shooting, investigators marked more than 40 pieces of evidence in the street, underscoring the severity of the crime scene.

Etel Haxhiaj, a Worcester City Councilor residing in the neighborhood, expressed her profound grief, emphasizing the loss of two precious lives and the devastating impact it has had on the community.
