In a brazen display of aggression, Moscow launched a devastating barrage of missiles and drones on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and the western region of Lviv, Ukrainian officials have reported. This marks the third major missile attack from Russia in the past four days and the second to target Kyiv.

According to Ukrainian media reports, the attack resulted in significant damage to Russia's Black Sea fleet infrastructure in Crimea. Ukrainian forces struck two Russian landing ships, the Yamal and Azov, as well as a communications center. The Ukrainian air force successfully destroyed 18 out of 29 missiles and 25 out of 28 attack drones.

Ukraine's security forces have declared an air alert, advising citizens to take shelter. U.S. Ambassador Bridget Brink condemned Russia's actions, stating that the missile and drone attacks violated international law and showed a disregard for the safety of millions of civilians.

The capital city endured an air alert that lasted for more than two hours as rockets rained down on Kyiv. Fortunately, reports indicate that the damage was limited. Officials from Lviv reported that around 20 missiles and seven Iranian-made Shahed drones targeted critical infrastructure in the region.

The crisis escalated further when one of the missiles breached Polish airspace. The Polish armed forces confirmed that the missile entered Polish space near Oserdów (Lublin Voivodeship) and remained there for 39 seconds.

This latest act of aggression exacerbates an already tense situation between Ukraine and Russia. The frequency and scale of these attacks only serve to heighten concerns about the stability of the region and the potential for further escalation.

As the international community watches these developments unfold, calls for restraint and peaceful resolution grow louder. It remains to be seen how this conflict will progress and if diplomatic efforts can quell the escalating hostilities.
