Major League Baseball (MLB) has announced the highly-anticipated schedule for the 2025 Spring Training season. The action-packed lineup kicks off on Thursday, February 20th, with the Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the Chicago Cubs in Glendale, Arizona. Meanwhile, the New York Yankees will welcome the Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa, Florida the following day to open the Grapefruit League. The excitement continues throughout the weekend, with all 30 teams taking the field on both Saturday, February 22nd, and Sunday, February 23rd.

One of the highlights of the 2025 Spring Training is the return of the Spring Breakout exhibition series. From March 13th to March 16th, baseball fans will witness the future stars of the sport as top prospects from various clubs face off in exhibition games. The showcase begins on Thursday, March 13th, with the Tampa Bay Rays' top-ranked prospects going head-to-head with the Boston Red Sox's seventh-ranked prospects in Port Charlotte, Florida. Similarly, the fifth-ranked prospects of the Los Angeles Dodgers will clash with the eighth-ranked prospects of the Chicago Cubs in Glendale, Arizona. Another exciting match-up features the Seattle Mariners' ninth-ranked prospects taking on the fourth-ranked prospects of the Cleveland Guardians in Goodyear, Arizona on Friday, March 14th.

The inaugural Spring Breakout last year proved to be a tremendous success, with 95 players getting called up to the Majors after showcasing their talents in the exhibition series. Among them, 35 players earned a spot on the prestigious MLB Pipeline's Top 100 prospects list for this year. Furthermore, 48 out of the 54 players selected for the 2024 All-Star Futures Game had participated in Spring Breakout, demonstrating its influence on players' professional careers. In fact, many participants from last year's event are also expected to feature in the upcoming Arizona Fall League.

The 2025 Spring Training season also presents some exciting crossover match-ups between Grapefruit and Cactus League clubs. The Atlanta Braves will travel to Mesa, Arizona to face the Chicago Cubs on Monday, March 24th, and Tuesday, March 25th. Additionally, the Colorado Rockies will visit the Minnesota Twins in Fort Myers, Florida on March 25th. Several exhibition games on March 23rd to March 25th will be held at both Major and Minor League ballparks, offering fans even more opportunities to catch their favorite teams in action.

Looking ahead, the regular season will officially commence with the Tokyo Series presented by Guggenheim. This two-game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs will take place at the iconic Tokyo Dome on Tuesday, March 18th, and Wednesday, March 19th. Following this exciting international showcase, the much-anticipated Opening Day, featuring all 30 Major League Clubs, will take place on Thursday, March 27th.
